2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-27Remove unnecessary instances of DECLARE_GLOBAL_DATA_PTRTom Rini
We have a large number of places where while we historically referenced gd in the code we no longer do, as well as cases where the code added that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-02-18fdt: Implement weak arch_fixup_fdt()Alexey Brodkin
Only ARM and in some configs MIPS really implement arch_fixup_fdt(). Others just use the same boilerplate which is not good by itself, but what's worse if we try to build with disabled CONFIG_CMD_BOOTM and enabled CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT we'll hit an unknown symbol which was apparently implemented in arch/xxx/lib/bootm.c. Now with weak arch_fixup_fdt() right in image-fdt.c where it is used we get both items highlighted above fixed. 2017-08-16env: Rename getenv/_f() to env_get()Simon Glass
We are now using an env_ prefix for environment functions. Rename these two functions for consistency. Also add function comments in common.h. Quite a few places use getenv() in a condition context, provoking a warning from checkpatch. These are fixed up in this patch also. 2017-08-13spl: add hierarchical defaults for SPL_LDSCRIPTPhilipp Tomsich
With SPL_LDSCRIPT moved to Kconfig (and this being a 'string' config node), all the lingering definitions in header files will cause warnings/errors due to the redefinition of the configuration item. As we don't want to pollute the defconfig files (and values should usually be identical for entire architectures), the defaults are moved into Kconfig. Kconfig will always pick the first default that matches, so please keep these values at the end of each file (to allow any board-specific Kconfig, which will be included earlier) to override with an unconditional default setting. U-Boot Some platforms have very limited SRAM to run SPL code, so there may not be the same amount space for a malloc pool before relocation in the SPL stage as the normal U-Boot stage. Make SPL and (the full) U-Boot stage use independent SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN, so the size of pre-relocation malloc pool can be configured memory space independently. 2017-06-19microblaze: Build only DTBs for selected targetMichal Simek
Adding more targets to repository requires some additional changes not simply just adding config file, defconfig and dts. This patch makes this process easier by building only particular DTB which is selected via defconfig that Makefile doesn't need to contain all dts files in the repository. 2017-05-08spl: make image arg or fdt blob address reconfigurableVikas Manocha
At present fdt blob or argument address being passed to kernel is fixed at compile time using macro CONFIG_SYS_SPL_ARGS_ADDR. FDT blob from different media like nand, nor flash are copied to the address pointed by the macro. 2016-12-02libfdt: replace ARCH_FIXUP_FDT with ARCH_FIXUP_FDT_MEMORYMasahiro Yamada
Commit e2f88dfd2d96 ("libfdt: Introduce new ARCH_FIXUP_FDT option") allows us to skip memory setup of DTB, but a problem for ARM is that spin_table_update_dt() and psci_update_dt() are skipped as well if CONFIG_ARCH_FIXUP_FDT is disabled. This commit allows us to skip only fdt_fixup_memory_banks() instead of the whole of arch_fixup_fdt(). It will be useful when we want to use a memory node from a kernel DTB as is, but need some fixups for Spin-Table/PSCI. 2016-09-23Remove arch/${ARCH}/include/asm/errno.hMasahiro Yamada
Unlike Linux, nothing about errno.h is arch-specific in U-Boot. As you see, all of arch/${ARCH}/include/asm/errno.h is just a wrapper of <asm-generic/errno.h>. Actually, U-Boot does not export headers to user-space, so we just have to care about the consistency in the U-Boot tree. Now all of include directives for <asm/errno.h> are gone. 2016-03-14Kconfig: Move CONFIG_FIT and related options to KconfigSimon Glass
There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this. Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration: CONFIG_FIT CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS CONFIG_RSA Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot and SPL. Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing.
