When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

We have a large number of places where while we historically referenced
gd in the code we no longer do, as well as cases where the code added
that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it.

In order that we can use eth_env_* even when CONFIG_NET isn't set, move
these functions to environment code from net code.
This fixes failures such as:
board/ti/am335x/built-in.o: In function `board_late_init':
board/ti/am335x/board.c:752: undefined reference to `eth_env_set_enetaddr'
u-boot/board/ti/am335x/board.c:766: undefined reference to `eth_env_set_enetaddr'
which caters for use cases such as:
commit f411b5cca48f ("board: am335x: Always set eth/eth1addr environment
variable")
when Ethernet is required in Linux, but not U-Boot.

This reverts commit edf0093732225c2fd0791c3864e9a3eef1f92f19 for
cm_fx6 iMX.6 Solo module as it causes frequent (around 10 percent of
power cycles) board's hangs.
These hangs happen in SPL when BSS is being initialized in SDRAM -
it appear that variables from BSS contain trash values which lead to board
hangs. Looks like that SDRAM doesn't yet finish initialization in these
cases.

Like many other i.MX6 based boards, there are multiple variants of
the cm-fx6 module featuring different SoC variants. Furthermore, the
module can be paired with multiple baseboards.
At the same time modern distribution like Fedora require U-Boot to
select a proper devicetree which depends on the SoC variant and the
baseboard.
Thus, export the SoC variant and the actual board to the environment
following the conventions of other i.MX6 devices (e.g. the NXP boards)
such that the environment can select a devicetree file to load.
For now, we only know for sure that the cm-fx6 module and the SB-fx6m
baseboard amount to a Utilite Computer variant (depending on the SoC).
Further combinations may be added in the future; e.g. CompuLab's
evaluation board once someone can verify the identification string
stored in its eeprom.

When CONFIG_BLK is enabled our weak board_mmc_init() will not be called.
Since there is no clock driver for MX6 yet, we must manually enable the
clocks.

We are now using an env_ prefix for environment functions. Rename these
two functions for consistency. Also add function comments in common.h.
Quite a few places use getenv() in a condition context, provoking a
warning from checkpatch. These are fixed up in this patch also.

Sometimes devicetree nodes and or properties are added out of the u-boot
console, maybe through some script or manual interaction.
The devicetree as loaded or embedded is quite small, so the devicetree
has to be resized to take up those new nodes/properties.
In original the devicetree was only extended by effective
4 * add_mem_rsv.
With this commit we can add an argument to the "fdt resize" command,
which takes the extrasize to be added.

Currently MX6 SPL DDR initialization hardcodes the REF_SEL and
REFR fields of the MDREF register as 1 and 7, respectively for
DDR3 and 0 and 3 for LPDDR2.
Looking at the MDREF initialization done via DCD we see that
boards do need to initialize these fields differently:

So introduce a mechanism for users to be able to configure
REFSEL and REFR fields as needed.
Keep all the mx6 SPL users in their current REF_SEL and REFR values,
so no functional changes for the existing users.

ft_board_setup may return early in the case that the board revision
cannot be obtained. In that case it is assumed that no revision
specific correction in the fdt is neccessary. But the mtd partitions
will not be fixed up either altough they are not revision specific.
Move the call to fdt_fixup_mtdparts in front of the revision specific
part to ensure that the partitions are fixed up even if the board
revision cannot be obtained.
While on it, fix a spelling mistake in a comment introduced by the
same commit.

The cm-fx6 module has an on-board st,m25p compatible spi flash chip
used for U-Boot (binary & environment). Overwrite the partitions in
the device tree by the partition table provided in the mtdparts
environment variable, if it is set.
This allows to specify a kernel independent partitioning in the
environment and provides a convient way for the user to adapt the
partition table.

Old revisions of Utilite (based on cm-fx6) do not have a dedicated
card detect pin. But the card is removable by the user and card
detection can be realized with polling (e.g. supported by Linux).
Add the broken-cd property to the mmc device tree instead of the
non-removable property to make card detection possible if polling
is supported.

Old revisions of Utilite (a miniature PC based on cm-fx6) do not have
a card detect for mmc, and thus the kernel needs to be told that
there's a persistent storage on usdhc3 to force it to probe the mmc
card.
Check the baseboard revision and modify the device tree accordingly
if needed.

On some CM-FX6 modules U-Boot attempts to configure the usb0 controller in
device mode, which renders it unavailable:
USB0: Port not available.
and also causes usb stop to report an error
EHCI failed to shut down host controller.
This happens mostly on MX6 Dual based modules, and is caused by the USBPHY_CTRL
register reporting USBPHY_CTRL_OTG_ID to be 1, even when it is pulled down.
Since we do not support device mode in cm-fx6 u-boot, force all controllers to
be configured as hosts.

Add support for selecting display preset using the environment variable
"displaytype". This is a preparation for future merging of compulab
omap3_display.c display selection code with the cm-fx6 display selection code.
The "panel" environment variable is retained for backwards compatibility.

Implement a cm-fx6 specific board_video_skip() to provide the option to not
initialize the display.
The new function does not init display if the environment variable "panel" is
not defined, or if it is set to an unsupported value.
Collateral changes:
- Don't use the global displays array (it's CONFIG_IMX_VIDEO_SKIP specific).
- Don't use detect_hdmi(), since env controlled init makes it unnecessary.

U-Boot does not explicitly assign the display to an IPU interface. Instead, it
relies on the power-on default of DI0.
Since the kernel reassigns HDMI display to DI1, after a warm reset the HDMI
display no longer works in U-Boot.
Fix this by explicitly assigning HDMI to IPU1 DI0 in U-Boot.

Move board/compulab/common/splash.c code to
common/splash_source.c to make it available for everybody. This move
renames cl_splash_screen_prepare() to splash_source_load(), and
the compilation of this code is conditional on CONFIG_SPLASH_SOURCE.
splash_source features:
* Provide a standardized way for declaring board specific splash screen
locations
* Provide existing routines for auto loading the splash image from the
locations as declared by the board
* Introduce the "splashsource" environment variable, which makes it
possible to select the splash image source.
cm-t35 and cm-fx6 are updated to use the modified version.

The global_data pointer (gd) has already been set before board_init_f()
is called. We should not assign it again. We should also not use gdata since
it is going away.

This function can fail if the device tree runs out of space. Rather than
silently booting with an incomplete device tree, allow the failure to be
detected.
Unfortunately this involves changing a lot of places in the code. I have
not changed behvaiour to return an error where one is not currently
returned, to avoid unexpected breakage.
Eventually it would be nice to allow boards to register functions to be
called to update the device tree. This would avoid all the many functions
to do this. However it's not clear yet if this should be done using driver
model or with a linker list. This work is left for later.

The 1GB DRAM configuration on mx6 solo uses 2 chip selects, but
the code tests 1GB DRAM configuration as if it is all present on one
chip select, and thus cannot see the full range of available memory.
Refactor the check to detect 1GB DRAM correctly.
