2018-10-06configs: drop CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_ENV_RELOCSimon Goldschmidt
Instead of manually specifying CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_ENV_RELOC for every board that needs it, it shouldn't hurt to let initr_reloc_global_data() always relocate gd->env_addr unless we know this pointer is outside the initial binary. To achieve this, the relocation is omitted if CONFIG_ENV_ADDR is defined (and ENV_IS_EMBEDDED is not). Signed-off-by: Simon Goldschmidt <simon.k.r.goldschmidt@gmail.com>

2018-07-19env: common: accept flags on reset to default envYaniv Levinsky
The function set_default_env() sets the hashtable flags for import_r(). Formally set_default_env() doesn't accept flags from its callers. In practice the caller can (un)set the H_INTERACTIVE flag, but it has to be done using the first character of the function's string argument. Other flags like H_FORCE can't be set by the caller. Change the function to accept flags argument. The benefits are: 1. The caller will have to explicitly set the H_INTERACTIVE flag, instead of un-setting it using a special char in a string. 2. Add the ability to propagate flags from the caller to himport(), especially the H_FORCE flag from do_env_default() in nvedit.c that currently gets ignored for "env default -a -f" commands. 3. Flags and messages will not be coupled together. A caller will be able to set flags without passing a string and vice versa. Please note: The propagation of H_FORCE from do_env_default() does not introduce any functional changes, because currently himport_r() is set to destroy the old environment regardless if H_FORCE flag is set or not. More changes are needed to utilize the propagation of H_FORCE. Signed-off-by: Yaniv Levinsky <yaniv.levinsky@compulab.co.il> Acked-by: Igor Grinberg <grinberg@compulab.co.il>

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-27Convert CONFIG_SPI to KconfigAdam Ford
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_SPI This partly involves updating code that assumes that CONFIG_SPI implies things that are specific to the MPC8xx SPI driver. For now, just update the CONFIG tests. This also involves reworking the default for CONFIG_SYS_DEF_EEPROM_ADDR so that we don't set it when we cannot make a reasonable default, as it does not cause any compile failures. We repeated partial moves for CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH, but this is not completed. Finish this work by the tool. During this move, let's rename it to CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH. Actually, we have more instances of "#ifndef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH" than those of "#ifdef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH". Flipping the logic will make the code more readable. [2] Run "tools/moveconfig.py -y -r HEAD SYS_NO_FLASH" [3] Rename the instances in defconfigs by the following: find . -path './configs/*_defconfig' | xargs sed -i \ -e '/CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH=y/d' \ -e 's/# CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH is not set/CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH=y/' [4] Change the conditionals by the following: find . -name '*.[ch]' | xargs sed -i \ -e 's/ifndef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH/ifdef CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH/' \ -e 's/ifdef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH/ifndef CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH/' \ -e 's/!defined(CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH)/defined(CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH)/' \ -e 's/defined(CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH)/!defined(CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH)/' [5] Modify the following manually - Rename the rest of instances - Remove the description from README - Create the new Kconfig entry in drivers/mtd/Kconfig - Remove the old Kconfig entry from common/Kconfig - Remove the garbage comments from include/configs/*.h Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2017-02-06x86: board_r: Set the global data pointer after relocationSimon Glass
Since 'gd' is just a normal variable on 64-bit x86, it is relocated by the time we get to board_init_r(). The old 'gd' variable is passed in as parameter to board_init_r(), presumably for this situation. Assign it on 64-bit x86 so that gd points to the correct data. All sata based drivers are bind and corresponding block device is created. Based on this find_scsi_device() is able to get back block device based on scsi_curr_dev pointer. intr_scsi() is commented now but it can be replaced by calling find_scsi_device() and scsi_scan(). scsi_dev_desc[] is commented out but common/scsi.c heavily depends on it. That's why CONFIG_SYS_SCSI_MAX_DEVICE is hardcoded to 1 and symbol is reassigned to a block description allocated by uclass. There is only one block description by device now but it doesn't need to be correct when more devices are present. scsi_bind() ensures corresponding block device creation. uclass post_probe (scsi_post_probe()) is doing low level init. 2016-03-15efi_loader: Implement memory allocation and mapAlexander Graf
The EFI loader needs to maintain views of memory - general system memory windows as well as used locations inside those and potential runtime service MMIO windows. To manage all of these, add a few helpers that maintain an internal representation of the map the similar to how the EFI API later on reports it to the application. For allocations, the scheme is very simple. We basically allow allocations to replace chunks of previously done maps, so that a new LOADER_DATA allocation for example can remove a piece of the RAM map. When no specific address is given, we just take the highest possible address in the lowest RAM map that fits the allocation size. 2016-03-15efi_loader: Add runtime servicesAlexander Graf
After booting has finished, EFI allows firmware to still interact with the OS using the "runtime services". These callbacks live in a separate address space, since they are available long after U-Boot has been overwritten by the OS. This patch adds enough framework for arbitrary code inside of U-Boot to become a runtime service with the right section attributes set. For now, we don't make use of it yet though. We could maybe in the future map U-boot environment variables to EFI variables here.
