2018-12-14spl: net: dm: usb: bind the gadget before attempting to load the imageJean-Jacques Hiblot
If DM_USB_GADGET is used, the usb ethernet gadget driver must be bound to a controller before the image can be downloaded over the network. In u-boot this can be done with the bind command. In SPL it must be done programmatically. Signed-off-by: Jean-Jacques Hiblot <jjhiblot@ti.com> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-27Remove unnecessary instances of DECLARE_GLOBAL_DATA_PTRTom Rini
We have a large number of places where while we historically referenced gd in the code we no longer do, as well as cases where the code added that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-03-05libfdt: move headers to <linux/libfdt.h> and <linux/libfdt_env.h>Masahiro Yamada
Thomas reported U-Boot failed to build host tools if libfdt-devel package is installed because tools include libfdt headers from /usr/include/ instead of using internal ones. This commit moves the header code: include/libfdt.h -> include/linux/libfdt.h include/libfdt_env.h -> include/linux/libfdt_env.h and replaces include directives: #include <libfdt.h> -> #include <linux/libfdt.h> #include <libfdt_env.h> -> #include <linux/libfdt_env.h> Reported-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2018-03-05spl: Kconfig: Rename SPL_USBETH_SUPPORT to SPL_USB_ETHER to match with the ↵Faiz Abbas
U-boot CONFIG Rename CONFIG_SPL_USBETH_SUPPORT to CONFIG_SPL_USB_ETHER. This enables users to block text using CONFIG_IS_ENABLED() instead of resorting to #if ladders with SPL and non-SPL cases. Signed-off-by: Faiz Abbas <faiz_abbas@ti.com>
2017-08-16env: Rename setenv() to env_set()Simon Glass
We are now using an env_ prefix for environment functions. Rename setenv() for consistency. Also add function comments in common.h. Suggested-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-04-08spl: net: Add FIT image support over network bootAndrew F. Davis
FIT support in the net boot case is much like the RAM boot case in that we load our image to "load_addr" and pass a dummy read function into "spl_load_simple_fit()". As the load address is no longer hard-coded to the final execution address, legacy image loading will require load_addr to be set correctly in the image header. Signed-off-by: Andrew F. Davis <afd@ti.com>
2016-12-09spl: Add a name to the SPL load-image methodsSimon Glass
It is useful to name each method so that we can print out this name when using the method. Currently this happens using a separate function. In preparation for unifying this, add a name to each method. The name is only available if we have libcommon support (i.e can use printf()). Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2016-10-06spl: Pass spl_image as a parameter to load_image() methodsSimon Glass
Rather than having a global variable, pass the spl_image as a parameter. This avoids BSS use, and makes it clearer what the function is actually doing. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2016-10-06spl: Convert spl_net_load_image() to use linker listSimon Glass
Add a linker list declaration for this method and remove the explicit switch() code. We need two variants - one for BOOT_DEVICE_CPGMAC and one for BOOT_DEVICE_USBETH. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2016-10-06spl: Convert boot_device into a structSimon Glass
At present some spl_xxx_load_image() functions take a parameter and some don't. Of those that do, most take an integer but one takes a string. Convert this parameter into a struct so that we can pass all functions the same thing. This will allow us to use a common function signature. 2015-11-18spl: change return values of spl_*_load_image()Nikita Kiryanov
Make spl_*_load_image() functions return a value instead of hanging if a problem is encountered. This enables main spl code to make the decision whether to hang or not, thus preparing it to support alternative boot devices. Some boot devices (namely nand and spi) do not hang on error. Instead, they return normally and SPL proceeds to boot the contents of the load address. This is considered a bug and is rectified by hanging on error for these devices as well. 2012-10-01OMAP: networking support for SPLIlya Yanok
This patch adds support for networking in SPL. Some devices are capable of loading SPL via network so it makes sense to load the main U-Boot binary via network too. This patch tries to use existing network code as much as possible. Unfortunately, it depends on environment which in turn depends on other code so SPL size is increased significantly. No effort was done to decouple network code and environment so far.
