2018-08-21cmd: Add bind/unbind commands to bind a device to a driver from the command lineJean-Jacques Hiblot
In some cases it can be useful to be able to bind a device to a driver from the command line. The obvious example is for versatile devices such as USB gadget. Another use case is when the devices are not yet ready at startup and require some setup before the drivers are bound (ex: FPGA which bitsream is fetched from a mass storage or ethernet) usage example: bind usb_dev_generic 0 usb_ether unbind usb_dev_generic 0 usb_ether or unbind eth 1 bind /ocp/omap_dwc3@48380000/usb@48390000 usb_ether unbind /ocp/omap_dwc3@48380000/usb@48390000 Signed-off-by: Jean-Jacques Hiblot <jjhiblot@ti.com>
2018-08-16configs: Migrate CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKSTom Rini
We have the following cases: - CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS was defined, migrate normally - CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS_MAX was defined and then used for CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS after a check, just migrate it over now. - CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS was very oddly defined on p2771-0000-* (to 1024 + 2), set this to 8. 2018-02-11configs: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASETom Rini
On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. I did not attempt to add more default values in and for now will leave that to maintainers. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-02-08block: Migrate SystemACE chip to KconfigTom Rini

Cc: Alexey Brodkin <alexey.brodkin@gmail.com> Cc: Michal Simek <michal.simek@xilinx.com> Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com> --- Is this driver still used anywhere? It's fishy that it's only enabled in sandbox anymore.
2018-02-03log: Add a way to log error-return valuesSimon Glass
When functions return an error it propagates up the stack to the point where it is reported. Often the error code provides enough information about the root cause of the error that this is obvious what went wrong. However in some cases the error may be hard to trace. For example if a driver uses several devices to perform an operation, it may not be obvious which one failed. Add a log_ret() macro to help with this. This can be used to wrap any error-return value. The logging system will then output a log record when the original error is generated, making it easy to trace the call stack of the error. This macro can significantly impact code size, so its use is controlled by a Kconfig option, which is enabled for sandbox. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2017-12-07sandbox: Adjust pre-console address to avoid conflictSimon Glass
We cannot use sandbox memory at 0 since other things use memory at that address. Move it up out of the way. Note that the pre-console buffer is currently disabled with sandbox, but this change will avoid confusion if it is manually enabled. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-10-10cmd: Toggle the default value of CONFIG_CMD_IMLSTuomas Tynkkynen
Having this as a 'default y' is rather annoying because it doesn't actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header: ../cmd/bootm.c: In function 'do_imls_nor': ../cmd/bootm.c:330:7: error: 'CONFIG_SYS_MAX_FLASH_BANKS' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'CONFIG_SYS_MAX_FLASH_SECT'? i < CONFIG_SYS_MAX_FLASH_BANKS; ++i, ++info) { Make it 'default n' so people who develop new boards that start from a blank defconfig have one less compilation failure to debug. 2017-07-25Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to KconfigSimon Glass
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It would lead to more than one option being set. In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a normal config allowing each option to be set independently. There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of this patch. This was tested with ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic now.
