2016-03-17x86: Add an ICH6 pin configuration driverSimon Glass
Add a driver which sets up the pin configuration on x86 devices with an ICH6 (or later) Platform Controller Hub. The driver is not in the pinctrl uclass due to some oddities of the way x86 devices work: - The GPIO controller is not present in I/O space until it is set up - This is done by writing a register in the PCH - The PCH has a driver which itself uses PCI, another driver - The pinctrl uclass requires that a pinctrl device be available before any other device can be probed It would be possible to work around the limitations by: - Hard-coding the GPIO address rather than reading it from the PCH - Using special x86 PCI access to set the GPIO address in the PCH However it is not clear that this is better, since the pin configuration driver does not actually provide normal pin configuration services - it simply sets up all the pins statically when probed. While this remains the case, it seems better to use a syscon uclass instead. This can be probed whenever it is needed, without any limitations. Some boards have an i8042 device. Enable the driver for all x86 boards, and add a device tree node for those which may have this keyboard. Also adjust the configuration so that i8042 is always separate from the VGA, and rename the stdin driver accordingly. With this commit the keyboard will not work, but it is fixed in the next commit. The CPU name for Exynos was concatenated with cpu id, but for new Exynos platforms, like Chromebook Peach Pi based on Exynos5800, the name of SoC variant does not include the real SoC cpu id (0x5422). For such case, the CPU name should be defined in device tree. This commit introduces new device-tree property for Exynos: - "cpu-model" - with cpu name string If defined, then the cpu id is not printed. 2015-10-22drivers: Introduce a simplified remoteproc frameworkNishanth Menon
Many System on Chip(SoC) solutions are complex with multiple processors on the same die dedicated to either general purpose of specialized functions. Many examples do exist in today's SoCs from various vendors. Typical examples are micro controllers such as an ARM M3/M0 doing a offload of specific function such as event integration or power management or controlling camera etc. Traditionally, the responsibility of loading up such a processor with a firmware and communication has been with a High Level Operating System(HLOS) such as Linux. However, there exists classes of products where Linux would need to expect services from such a processor or the delay of Linux and operating system being able to load up such a firmware is unacceptable. To address these needs, we need some minimal capability to load such a system and ensure it is started prior to an Operating System(Linux or any other) is started up. NOTE: This is NOT meant to be a solve-all solution, instead, it tries to address certain class of SoCs and products that need such a solution. A very simple model is introduced here as part of the initial support that supports microcontrollers with internal memory (no MMU, no execution from external memory, or specific image format needs). This basic framework can then (hopefully) be extensible to other complex SoC processor support as need be. 2015-08-05dm: i2c: Add support for multiplexed I2C busesSimon Glass
Add a new I2C_MUX uclass. Devices in this class can multiplex between several I2C buses, selecting them one at a time for use by the system. The multiplexing mechanism is left to the driver to decide - it may be controlled by GPIOs, for example. The uclass supports only two methods: select() and deselect(). The current mux state is expected to be stored in the mux itself since it is the only thing that knows how to make things work. The mux can record the current state and then avoid switching unless it is necessary. So select() can be skipped if the mux is already in the correct state.
