2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-10-15i2c: uniphier-f: replace debug() with dev_dbg()Masahiro Yamada
Use dev_dbg() functions. It will be helpful to prefix log messages with the corresponding device name when the core framework is ready. While I am here, I renamed "dev", which was actually private data, into "priv" because dev->dev looks confusing. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2017-06-01dm: Rename dev_addr..() functionsSimon Glass
These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..() prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename the existing functions to avoid confusion. In the end we will have: 1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree 2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only 3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use. Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file. 2017-06-01dm: Use dm.h header when driver mode is usedSimon Glass
This header includes things that are needed to make driver build. Adjust existing users to include that always, even if other dm/ includes are present Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-01-29i2c: uniphier-f: use readl_poll_timeout() to poll registersMasahiro Yamada
The readl_poll_timeout() is a useful helper to poll registers and error out if the condition is not met. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2017-01-29i2c: uniphier(-f): remove unneeded #include <dm/root.h>Masahiro Yamada
This include is unnecessary for low-level drivers. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2016-09-23treewide: replace #include <asm/errno.h> with <linux/errno.h>Masahiro Yamada
Now, arch/${ARCH}/include/asm/errno.h and include/linux/errno.h have the same content. (both just wrap <asm-generic/errno.h>) Replace all include directives for <asm/errno.h> with <linux/errno.h>. 2016-07-24ARM: uniphier: use (devm_)ioremap() instead of map_sysmem()Masahiro Yamada
This does not have much impact on behavior, but makes code look more more like Linux. The use of devm_ioremap() often helps to delete .remove callbacks entirely. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2016-04-01i2c: uniphier: use devm_get_addr() to get base addressMasahiro Yamada
Currently, fdtdec_get_addr_size() does not support the address translation, so it cannot handle device trees with non-straight "ranges" properties. (This would be a problem with DTS for UniPhier ARMv8 SoCs.) Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2015-05-31ARM: UniPhier: replace <asm/io.h> with <linux/io.h>Masahiro Yamada
In the Linux coding style, it is recommended to include <linux/io.h> rather than <asm/io.h>. Follow this trend. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2015-04-18common: Make sure arch-specific map_sysmem() is definedJoe Hershberger
In the case where the arch defines a custom map_sysmem(), make sure that including just mapmem.h is sufficient to have these functions as they are when the arch does not override it. Also split the non-arch specific functions out of common.h Signed-off-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2015-01-29dm: i2c: Move slave details to child platdataSimon Glass
At present we go through various contortions to store the I2C's chip address in its private data. This only exists when the chip is active so must be set up when it is probed. Until the device is probed we don't actually record what address it will appear on. However, now that we can support per-child platform data, we can use that instead. This allows us to set up the address when the child is bound, and avoid the messy contortions. Unfortunately this is a fairly large change and it seems to be difficult to break it down further.
