2017-02-08dm: core: Replace of_offset with accessorSimon Glass
At present devices use a simple integer offset to record the device tree node associated with the device. In preparation for supporting a live device tree, which uses a node pointer instead, refactor existing code to access this field through an inline function. 2016-12-15spi: Add error checking for invalid bus widthsSimon Glass
At present an invalid bus width prints a message but does not return an error. This is the opposite of the correct behaviour. Adjust it to avoid code bloat in the common case, and avoid hard-to-debug failure in the uncommon case. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Jagan Teki <jagan@openedev.com>
2016-11-25spi: Add a debug() on bind failureSimon Glass
This is an uncommon error but we may as well have a debug() message when it happens. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2016-11-25spi: Add of-platdata support to SPI and SPI flashSimon Glass
Some boards may want to use these subsystems with of-platdata in SPL. Add support for this by avoiding any device tree access in this case. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2016-09-22spi: Use mode for rx mode flagsJagan Teki
Make rx mode flags as generic to spi, earlier mode_rx is maintained separately because of some flash specific code. 2016-07-27dm: Use dm_scan_fdt_dev() directly where possibleSimon Glass
Quite a few places have a bind() method which just calls dm_scan_fdt_dev(). We may as well call dm_scan_fdt_dev() directly. Update the code to do this. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2016-07-27dm: Convert users from dm_scan_fdt_node() to dm_scan_fdt_dev()Simon Glass
This new function is more convenient for callers, and handles pre-relocation situations automatically. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2016-07-09dm: spi: Read default speed and mode values from DTVignesh R
In case of DT boot, don't read default speed and mode for SPI from CONFIG_*, instead read from DT node. This will make sure that boards with multiple SPI/QSPI controllers can be probed at different bus frequencies and SPI modes. 2015-05-05dm: spi: Avoid setting the speed with every transferSimon Glass
Only set the speed if it has changed from last time. Since the speed will be 0 when the device is probed it will always be changed on the first transfer after the device is probed. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2015-04-23dm: spi: Correct SPI claim/release_bus() methodsSimon Glass
These methods should be passed a slave device, not a bus. This matches the old SPI interface. It is important to know which device is claiming the bus so passing a bus is not that useful. 2015-04-16dm: core: Add dev_get_uclass_priv() to access uclass private dataSimon Glass
Add a convenience function to access the private data that a uclass stores for each of its devices. Convert over most existing uses for consistency and to provide an example for others. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2015-01-29dm: spi: Move slave details to child platdataSimon Glass
At present we go through various contortions to store the SPI slave's chip select in its private data. This only exists when the slave is active so must be set up when it is probed. Until the device is probed we don't actually know what chip select it will appear on. However, now that we can support per-child platform data, we can use that instead. This allows us to set up the chip select when the child is bound, and avoid the messy contortions. Unfortunately this is a fairly large change and it seems to be difficult to break it down further. 2015-01-29dm: spi: Set up the spi_slave device pointer in child_pre_probe()Simon Glass
At present we use struct spi_slave as our device pointer in a lot of places to avoid changing the old SPI API. At some point this will go away. But for now, it is better if the SPI uclass sets up this pointer, rather than relying on passing it into the device when it is probed. We can use the new uclass child_pre_probe() method to do this. 2015-01-29dm: spi: Move the per-child data size to the uclassSimon Glass
This is common to all SPI drivers and specifies a structure used by the uclass. It makes more sense to define it in the uclass. Reviewed-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2015-01-29dm: core: Add a flag to control sequence numberingSimon Glass
At present we try to use the 'reg' property and device tree aliases to give devices a sequence number. The 'reg' property is often actually a memory address, so the sequence numbers thus-obtained are not useful. It would be better if the devices were just sequentially numbered in that case. In fact neither I2C nor SPI use this feature, so drop it. Some devices need us to look up an alias to number them within the uclass. Add a flag to control this, so it is not done unless it is needed. Adjust the tests to test this new behaviour. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>

2014-11-23linux/kernel.h: sync min, max, min3, max3 macros with LinuxMasahiro Yamada
U-Boot has never cared about the type when we get max/min of two values, but Linux Kernel does. This commit gets min, max, min3, max3 macros synced with the kernel introducing type checks. Many of references of those macros must be fixed to suppress warnings. We have two options: - Use min, max, min3, max3 only when the arguments have the same type (or add casts to the arguments) - Use min_t/max_t instead with the appropriate type for the first argument Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Acked-by: Pavel Machek <pavel@denx.de> Acked-by: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com> Tested-by: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com> [trini: Fixup arch/blackfin/lib/string.c] Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@ti.com>

2014-10-22dm: spi: Add a uclass for SPISimon Glass
Add a uclass which provides access to SPI buses and includes operations required by SPI. For a time driver model will need to co-exist with the legacy SPI interface so some parts of the header file are changed depending on which is in use. The exports are adjusted also since some functions are not available with driver model. Boards must define CONFIG_DM_SPI to use driver model for SPI.
