2018-12-14usb: musb-new: sunxi: Fix null pointer accessStefan Mavrodiev
When the device is in peripheral mode there is no struct usb_bus_priv allocated pointer, as the uclass driver ("usb_dev_generic") doesn't call per_device_auto_alloc_size. This results in writing to the internal SDRAM at priv->desc_before_addr = true; Signed-off-by: Stefan Mavrodiev <stefan@olimex.com>
2018-12-14usb: musb-new: Add support for DM_USBJean-Jacques Hiblot
Enable DM for USB peripheral in the musb-new driver. Also make sure that the driver can be used in the SPL. This implies that: * the driver must work with and without the OF_CONTROL option. That in turn, implies that the platform data can be passed in a struct ti_musb_platdata or be read from the dtb * usb.o is linked in the SPL if host support is enabled Another change is that the driver does not fail to bind (and stop the boot process) if one of the child driver does not bind. Reporting the error is enough. This kind of error would appear if the port is configured in the DTS but the driver is not activated in the config. 2018-08-21usb: musb-new: omap2430: Enable DM_USB and OF supportAdam Ford
With upcoming changes that require CONFIG_BLK, this broke USB Mass Storage on the OMAP3 boards because if CONFIG_BLK is enabled, it assumes that DM_USB is enabled, but it wasn't yet available on omap3 and omap4 boards. This patch converts the OMAP2430 MUSB glue to support DM_USB and extracts the necessary information based on the device tree. It's based on the ti-musb driver, but there are enough significant differences in both the architecture and device tree entires between am33xx and OMAP3/OMAP4, that I think it makes sense to continue to keep the separate. Per doc/driver-model/usb-info.txt, the USB gadget stuff hasn't migrated to DM_USB yet, so this only supports USB Host for now. Users wanting USB Gadgets will need to disable DM_USB and leave it the old way for now. Signed-off-by: Adam Ford <aford173@gmail.com>

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2017-10-04treewide: replace with error() with pr_err()Masahiro Yamada
U-Boot widely uses error() as a bit noisier variant of printf(). This macro causes name conflict with the following line in include/linux/compiler-gcc.h: # define __compiletime_error(message) __attribute__((error(message))) This prevents us from using __compiletime_error(), and makes it difficult to fully sync BUILD_BUG macros with Linux. (Notice Linux's BUILD_BUG_ON_MSG is implemented by using compiletime_assert().) Let's convert error() into now treewide-available pr_err(). Done with the help of Coccinelle, excluing tools/ directory. The semantic patch I used is as follows: // <smpl> @@@@ -error +pr_err (...) // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> [trini: Re-run Coccinelle] Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-10-04printk: collect printk stuff into <linux/printk.h> with loglevel supportMasahiro Yamada
When we import code from Linux, with regular re-sync planned, we want to use printk() and pr_*(). U-Boot does not support them in a clean way. So, people end up with local macros, or compat headers here and there, then we occasionally see build errors of definition conflicts. We have include/linux/compat.h, but putting all sorts of unrelated things into a single header is just a temporal workaround. Hence this patch, to find the best home for all printk variants. If you want to use printk() and friends, please include <linux/printk.h>. This header is self-contained, and pulls in only a few headers. When I was testing this clean-up, I noticed the image size exceeded its platform limit on some boards. This is because all pr_*() that were previously defined as no-op in include/linux/mtd/mtd.h (unless CONFIG_MTD_DEBUG is set), are now enabled. To make such boards happy, this commit also implements CONFIG_LOGLEVEL. The concept is similar to the kernel parameter "loglevel". (Actually, the Kconfig help message was taken from kernel-paremeter.txt of Linux) Messages with a loglevel smaller than console loglevel will be printed. The difference is the loglevel is build-time determined. To save the image size, lower priority pr_*() are compiled out. I set the default of CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to 6, i.e. pr_notice and higher priority messages are compiled in. I adjusted CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to avoid build error for some boards. 2016-09-18sunxi: musb: Re-init musb controller on repeated probe callsHans de Goede
With sunxi-musb musb_lowlevel_init() can fail when a charger; or no cable is plugged into the otg port. To avoid leaking the struct musb allocated by musb_init_controller() on repeated musb_usb_probe() calls, we were caching its result. But musb_init_controller() does more, such as calling sunxi_musb_init() which enables the clocks. Not calling sunxi_musb_init() causes the musb controller to stop working after a "usb reset" since that calls musb_usb_remove() which disables the clocks. This commit fixes this by removing the caching of the struct returned from musb_init_controller(), it replaces this by free-ing the allocated memory in musb_usb_remove() and calling musb_usb_remove() on musb_usb_probe() errors to ensure proper cleanup. While at it also make musb_usb_probe() and musb_usb_remove() static. Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com>
