2019-02-07configs: Don't use SPI_FLASH_BAR as defaultVignesh R
Now that new SPI NOR layer uses stateless 4 byte opcodes by default, don't enable SPI_FLASH_BAR. For SPI controllers that cannot support 4-byte addressing, (stm32_qspi.c, fsl_qspi.c, mtk_qspi.c, ich.c, renesas_rpc_spi.c) add an imply clause to enable SPI_FLASH_BAR so as to not break functionality. Instead of manually specifying CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_ENV_RELOC for every board that needs it, it shouldn't hurt to let initr_reloc_global_data() always relocate gd->env_addr unless we know this pointer is outside the initial binary. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2018-03-16Convert all of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX to KconfigTom Rini
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. 2018-02-25bootcount: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_BOOTCOUNT_ADDRTom Rini
Migrate the users of CONFIG_SYS_BOOTCOUNT_ADDR to Kconfig. We can provide a default for BOOTCOUNT_AM33XX as that's a specific part of the RTC in use. We can also provide a default for ARCH_LS1043A and ARCH_LS1021A as they had been previously calculated and their symbols are in Kconfig. In the case of other QE-enabled platforms, they are not so we must update the relevant defconfig files. The previous default only applied in some cases, even on a specific SoC family. 2018-02-11configs: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASETom Rini
On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. We repeated partial moves for CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH, but this is not completed. Finish this work by the tool. During this move, let's rename it to CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH. Actually, we have more instances of "#ifndef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH" than those of "#ifdef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH". Flipping the logic will make the code more readable. 2016-08-05treewide: move CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to KconfigMasahiro Yamada
We need to ensure that CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT is configured via Kconfig so that it is always available to the build system. Otherwise we can run into cases where we have inconsistent sizes of certain attributes. Ravi Babu reported offset mismatch of struct dwc3 across files since commit 95ebc253e6d4 ("types.h: move and redefine resource_size_t"). Since the commit, resource_addr_t points to phys_addr_t, whose size is dependent on CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT for ARM architecture. I tried my best to use "select" where possible (for example, ARMv8 architecture) because I think this kind of option is generally user- unconfigurable. However, I see some of PowerPC boards have 36BIT defconfigs as well as 32BIT ones. I moved CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to the defconfigs for such boards. CONFIG_36BIT is no longer referenced, so all of the defines were removed from CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS. There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this. Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration: CONFIG_FIT CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS CONFIG_RSA Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot and SPL. Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing. 2015-11-18km: update the boot script to check for a DTBValentin Longchamp
If a DTB is found with cramfsls, the bootscript continues as expected. If none is found, the cramfsloadfdt and boot subbootcmds are updated to not load the DTB from cramfs and not pass it to the kernel. The kernel thus must have an appended DTB otherwise the boot will fail. This is required for the km_kirkwood boards that must support .esw where the DTB sometimes is appended (for backwards compatibility) and sometimes is passed correctly (as we do now for all newer boards).
