2018-03-22davinci: omapl138_lcdk: fix PLL0 frequencyDavid Lechner
commit 1601dd97edc6 ("davinci: omapl138_lcdk: increase PLL0 frequency") changed the PLL0 frequency to 456MHz, which is needed for the LCDC IP block. However, in doing so, it caused the PLLOUT clock to be outside of the allowable specifications given in the OMAP-L138 data sheet. (It says PLLOUT must be 600MHz max). It also uses a PLLM value outside of the range given in the TRM (it says PLLM must in the range 0 to 0x1f). So here is what we have currently: PLLOUT = 24 / (0 + 1) * (37 + 1) = 912MHz (out of spec) ^ ^ ^ CLKIN PREDIV PLLM (out of spec) input to PLLDIVn = 912 / (1 + 1) = 456MHz (desired result) ^ ^ PLLOUT POSTDIV This changes the PLLM value to 18 and the POSTDIV value to 0 so that PLLOUT is now within specification but we still get the desired result. 2018-03-16Convert all of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX to KconfigTom Rini
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It would lead to more than one option being set. In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a normal config allowing each option to be set independently. There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of this patch. This was tested with ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic now. 2017-06-09davinci: omapl138_lcdk: fix tXSNR DDR2 timing valueSekhar Nori
As per the datasheet[1] available for DDR2 part on board the OMAP-L138 LCDK, the tXSNR (exit self refresh to a non-read command) is 137.5 ns. This corresponds to a value of 20 to be written to T_XSNR register field of OMAP-L138's DDR configuration. The DDR2 is at 150 MHz. Fix this. 2017-04-06Remove various unused interrupt related codeTom Rini
With d53ecad92f06 some unused interrupt related code was removed. However all of these options are currently unused. Rather than migrate some of these options to Kconfig we just remove the code in question. The only related code changes here are that in some cases we use CONFIG_STACKSIZE in non-IRQ related context. Now, CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC seems equivalent to CONFIG_MMC. Let's create an entry for "config GENERIC_MMC" with "default MMC", then convert all macro defines in headers to Kconfig. Almost all of the defines will go away. I see only two exceptions: configs/blanche_defconfig configs/sandbox_noblk_defconfig They define CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC, but not CONFIG_MMC. Something might be wrong with these two boards, so should be checked later. Anyway, this is the output of the moveconfig tool. Commit 7a777f6d6f35 ("mmc: Add generic Kconfig option") created a Kconfig entry for this option without any actual moves, then commit 44c798799f66 ("sunxi: Use Kconfig CONFIG_MMC") moved instances only for SUNXI. We generally do not like such partial moves. This kind of work is automated by tools/moveconfig.py, so it is pretty easy to complete this move. I am adding "default ARM || PPC || SANDBOX" (suggested by Tom). This shortens the configs and will ease new board porting. 2016-12-05davinci: omapl138_lcdk: increase PLL0 frequencyBartosz Golaszewski
The LCDC controller on the lcdk board has high memory throughput requirements. Even with the kernel-side tweaks to master peripheral and peripheral bus burst priorities, the default PLL0 frquency of 300 MHz is not enough to service the LCD controller and causes DMA FIFO underflows. Increment the PLL0 multiplier to 37, resulting in PLL0 frequency of 456 MHz - the same value that downstream reference u-boot from Texas Instruments uses.
