2020-04-16dm: test: add test case for dev_read_u64 functionDario Binacchi
Add test case to cover dev_read_u64 and dev_read_u64_default functions. Signed-off-by: Dario Binacchi <dariobin@libero.it> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-04-16test: Add hexdump.h to the unit test headerSimon Glass
Since ut_asserteq_mem() uses bin2hex() we should include this header in ut.h to avoid errors. Add it. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Wolfgang Wallner <wolfgang.wallner@br-automation.com>
2020-02-05test: Add a way to check each line of console outputSimon Glass
When writing tests to check the output from commands it is useful to be able to check the output line by line using an assertion. Add helper macros to support this and to check that there is no unexpected trailing data. Also some commands produce a dump using print_buffer(). Add a way to check that the correct number of bytes are dumped (ignoring the actual contents). Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-02-05test: Add underscore prefix to macro parametersSimon Glass
If a test happens to use the same variable as the macro parameter the macro does not work as intended. Add an underscore to guard against this. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-01-07test: Add functions to find the amount of allocated memorySimon Glass
The malloc() implementations provides a way of finding out the approximate amount of memory that is allocated. Add helper functions to make it easier to access this and see changes over time. This is useful for tests that want to check if memory has been allocated or freed. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2019-10-27sandbox: test: Show hex values on failureSimon Glass
Quite a few tests use addresses or hex values for comparisons. Add hex output for test failures, e.g.: 0x55ca22fa == reg: Expected 0x55ca22fa (1439310586), got 0x55ea22fb (1441407739) Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
2018-09-28test: Add ut_asserteq_memMario Six
Add a unit test assert-method, which compares two given memory areas for byte-wise equality. Signed-off-by: Mario Six <mario.six@gdsys.cc> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-07-19test: Add ut_assertnull macroRamon Fried
Add ut_assertnull macro to include/test/ut.h For testing of functions that returns NULL on errors. Signed-off-by: Ramon Fried <ramon.fried@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2015-07-21test: Add a macro to check that a value is not an error pointerSimon Glass
Some functions can return ERR_PTR(errval). Add a unit test macro to check that no error is returned in a pointer. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2015-05-21test: Return values from the asserts compatible with cmdsJoe Hershberger
The asserts are sometimes called from the context of the test command itself so make sure that a return that happens as a result of a failure is compatible with that command return. When called within a test, the return value is ignored. Signed-off-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

Separate the ability to define tests and assert status of test functions from the dm tests so they can be used more consistently throughout all tests. Signed-off-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
