2017-11-17lib: libfdt: wrap scripts/dtc/libfdt/* where possibleMasahiro Yamada
lib/libfdt/ and scripts/dtc/libfdt have the same copies for the followings 6 files: fdt.c fdt_addresses.c fdt_empty_tree.c fdt_overlay.c fdt_strerr.c fdt_sw.c Make them a wrapper of scripts/dtc/libfdt/*. This is exactly what Linux does to sync libfdt. In order to make is possible, import <linux/libfdt.h> and <linux/libfdt_env.h> from Linux 4.14-rc5. Unfortunately, U-Boot locally modified the following 3 files: fdt_ro.c fdt_wip.c fdt_rw.c The fdt_region.c is U-Boot own file. I did not touch them in order to avoid unpredictable impact. 2012-10-15libfdt: Add helper function to create a trivial, empty treeGerald Van Baren
The libfdt read/write functions are now usable enough that it's become a moderately common pattern to use them to build and manipulate a device tree from scratch. For example, we do so ourself in our rw_tree1 testcase, and qemu is starting to use this model when building device trees for some targets such as e500. However, the read/write functions require some sort of valid tree to begin with, so this necessitates either having a trivial canned dtb to begin with or, more commonly, creating an empty tree using the serial-write functions first. This patch adds a helper function which uses the serial-write functions to create a trivial, empty but complete and valid tree in a supplied buffer, ready for manipulation with the read/write functions.
