1 large onion, finely chopped

1 cm ginger, peeled and finely chopped
1/3 cup butter
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp ground fenugreek
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
6 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
juice of 1/2 lime or lemon
one serving of tandoori chicken
2/3 cup heavy cream
4 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
cooked rice, for accompaniment
