2019-08-11env: Move env_get_f() to env.hSimon Glass
Move this function over to the new header file. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Acked-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com>
2019-05-21mpc83xx: Get rid of CONFIG_SYS_DDR_BASEMario Six
CONFIG_SYS_DDR_BASE is specific to mpc83xx an is always set to the same value as CONFIG_SYS_SDRAM_BASE. Just use CONFIG_SYS_SDRAM_BASE instead. Signed-off-by: Mario Six <mario.six@gdsys.cc>
2019-05-20mpc83xx: Make distinct caddy2 configMario Six
vme8349.h contains two separate boards: The vme8349 itself, and the caddy2 board. The caddy2 board is chosen by setting certain config variables. Create a proper config file for the caddy2 board to make Kconfig migration easier. Furthermore, simplify the vme8349 and caddy2 configs by keeping only the options necessary for each board. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-27Remove unnecessary instances of DECLARE_GLOBAL_DATA_PTRTom Rini
We have a large number of places where while we historically referenced gd in the code we no longer do, as well as cases where the code added that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-03-05libfdt: move headers to <linux/libfdt.h> and <linux/libfdt_env.h>Masahiro Yamada
Thomas reported U-Boot failed to build host tools if libfdt-devel package is installed because tools include libfdt headers from /usr/include/ instead of using internal ones. This commit moves the header code: include/libfdt.h -> include/linux/libfdt.h include/libfdt_env.h -> include/linux/libfdt_env.h and replaces include directives: #include <libfdt.h> -> #include <linux/libfdt.h> #include <libfdt_env.h> -> #include <linux/libfdt_env.h> Reported-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2017-10-16Drop CONFIG_HAS_DATAFLASHTuomas Tynkkynen
Last user of this option went away in commit: fdc7718999 ("board: usb_a9263: Update to support DT and DM") Signed-off-by: Tuomas Tynkkynen <tuomas.tynkkynen@iki.fi>
2017-08-16env: Rename getenv/_f() to env_get()Simon Glass
We are now using an env_ prefix for environment functions. Rename these two functions for consistency. Also add function comments in common.h. Quite a few places use getenv() in a condition context, provoking a warning from checkpatch. These are fixed up in this patch also. Suggested-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-08-04board: meesc: Update to support DT and DMWenyou.Yang@microchip.com
Add the dts files to support deivce tree, update the configuration files to support the device tree and driver model. The peripheral clock and pins configuration are handled by the clock and the pinctrl drivers respectively. 2017-07-03powerpc: remove 4xx supportHeiko Schocher
There was for long time no activity in the 4xx area. We need to go further and convert to Kconfig, but it turned out, nobody is interested anymore in 4xx, so remove it. Signed-off-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de>
2017-06-16powerpc, 5xxx, 512x: remove support for mpc5xxx and mpc512xHeiko Schocher
There was for long time no activity in the mpx5xxx area. We need to go further and convert to Kconfig, but it turned out, nobody is interested anymore in mpc5xxx, so remove it. Signed-off-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de>
2017-06-05arm: Include asm/setup.h explictlySimon Glass
Include this header where needed so we do not need to rely on common.h. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-06-05arm: Add explicit include of <asm/mach-types.h>Simon Glass
Rather than relying on common.h to provide this include, which is going away at some point, include it explicitly in each file. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-05-15i2c: Drop use of CONFIG_I2C_HARDSimon Glass
This option is pretty old. It predates CONFIG_SYS_I2C which is itself deprecated in favour of driver model. Disable it for all boards. Also drop I2C options which depend on this. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-04-13board_f: Rename initdram() to dram_init()Simon Glass
This allows us to use the same DRAM init function on all archs. Add a dummy function for arc, which does not use DRAM init here. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> [trini: Dummy function on nios2] Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-04-05board_f: Drop setup_dram_config() wrapperSimon Glass
By making dram_init_banksize() return an error code we can drop the wrapper. Adjust this and clean up all implementations. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
2017-04-05board_f: Drop return value from initdram()Simon Glass
At present we cannot use this function as an init sequence call without a wrapper, since it returns the RAM size. Adjust it to set the RAM size in global_data instead, and return 0 on success. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
2017-04-05board_f: Drop board_type parameter from initdram()Simon Glass
It looks like only cm5200 and tqm8xx use this feature, so we don't really need it in generic code. Drop it and have the users access gd->board_type directly. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>

2014-11-21fdt: Allow ft_board_setup() to report failureSimon Glass
This function can fail if the device tree runs out of space. Rather than silently booting with an incomplete device tree, allow the failure to be detected. Unfortunately this involves changing a lot of places in the code. I have not changed behvaiour to return an error where one is not currently returned, to avoid unexpected breakage. Eventually it would be nice to allow boards to register functions to be called to update the device tree. This would avoid all the many functions to do this. However it's not clear yet if this should be done using driver model or with a linker list. This work is left for later.
